The Claimed Intermediate is a Patent Watching Service and a Process Patent Database specifically concerned with identifying Pharmaceutical Process Patents for Named Marketed Drugs and particularly any Claimed Intermediates contained within the identified patent specifications. Such Marketed Drugs may be subject to product patent term protection or already generic – since all marketed drugs will eventually be generic!

A Basic Patent Status is included in each record to briefly indicate the progress of the Patent Application. Many Process Patents do not proceed to Grant.
 
Due to the number of languages encountered, some countries will not be covered – however these will be included when an in-house readable language patent family equivalent emerges (eg a published EP patent specification equivalent to a CN, JP, KR etc patent specification).

Due to the prevalence of equivalent patent specifications in patent families and in an attempt to exclude repetitions, the Patent Watching Service will only include NEW patent specifications, i.e. those without previously published family equivalents. Equivalent patent family specifications may be obtained from free or commercial patent databases.

As a Marketed Pharmaceutical Drug approaches its Product Patent term expiry (including SPCs &c), numerous Process patents are filed in efforts to enhance the profitability of commercial synthesis, especially for when the Marketed Drug goes Generic. However, the FDA, for example, does not list Process Patents and these are often lost within a plethora of other pharmaceutical patents (new drugs, compositions &c) in high cost patent databases.

Unlimited Annual or Monthly Access to The Claimed Intermediate database is immediately available to order:

• Online, via Paypal (above), which accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Direct Debit in 24 currencies.
  
• Bank transfer or cheque - we will send you an invoice with our bank details; payment should be made in £GBP. To order by bank transfer or invoice please contact us.
  

VAT will be collected from EU based companies, unless we are advised, and are able to verify their VAT number. Companies based in non-EU countries will not be liable for VAT

As soon as we are notified that payment has been made, by PayPal, via bank transfer, or cleared cheque, we will email a username and password, within UK working hours, Monday to Friday, 00.90 to 17.00 hrs, for use by a named member of your organisation. There is no monthly contract. You may cancel at any time or move to an annual subscription. Subscriptions paid are non-refundable after 30 days.
